PROGRESS21, Manchester’s most prominent business conference this year, was turned into a climate positive event by collaborating with Play It Green, who planted a tree for every guest who attended.

In total, Play it Green planted 3,154 trees for the event, which is the equivalent of removing 18,444 cars from the road for the day.

The conference was hosted by The Growth Company and combined careers, business, and Manchester’s global ambitions.

Play it Green also played a key role as part on the expert panel discussing sustainability within business, something considered a significant and necessary part of the regions business recovery and future growth strategy.

At a keynote address on the future of the Greater Manchester economy, Mayor Andy Burnham said, “Digitalisation and decarbonisation will be the twin driving forces of the 21st century economy.”

“By rising now to the challenge of the climate crisis, we will solve the jobs crisis, the housing crisis, and we will give people better public transport. This is the route to levelling up.”

Play it Green had a stall at the event to showcase their work to enable businesses and individuals more sustainable.

They also gave delegates the option to plant trees just by scanning a QR code at their stall.

Co-founder, Richard Dickson, also spoke both on stage at the event and was invited to be part of a delegation that was to meet with the Minister for Small Business, Paul Scully MP.

With Manchester planning to become Carbon Net-Zero, Play It Green is helping businesses align with these goals, providing simple, affordable sustainability solutions that ultimately make them more appealing to their shareholders, workforce, and customers.

“Play it Green help subscribers become climate positive through tree planting and carbon footprint reduction services, in line with the Greater Manchester environmental vision to be carbon neutral by 2038.

“It was great to see Play It Green support PROGRESS21, speaking on the Net Zero panel and offsetting our emissions by planting a tree for every delegate that attended the event – over 3000 trees planted!”
