We are incredibly excited to announce that Jo Li will be joining our expanding team as Marketing Manager.
In his role, Jo will be responsible for identifying new marketing opportunities and creating and delivering a plan for how we approach them. He will also ensure our key audiences know all about Play it Green and our capabilities across our core services, helping to turn that awareness into new business opportunities.
Originally from Hong Kong, Jo is a Commerce, Marketing, and Finance graduate from the University of New South Wales in Sydney and has a postgraduate diploma in Marketing from HKU Space/CIM.
He is a passionate marketer with many years of experience, particularly in the sports industry, where he spent six years as Marketing Manager for the Hong Kong Football Association. Here, he planned the marketing strategy for the whole association, including Hong Kong Premier League and Hong Kong Representative Team.
Jo also developed and launched the brand new image of the Hong Kong Premier League through an integrated marketing approach from a new logo and theme to a wide range of promotion and digital marketing campaigns to increase awareness of the league.
In 2018, Jo moved on to work at HK01, one of the pioneers to build a media plus lifestyle platform that provides personalised and diversified internet services in the digital era. His most recent role there was as Associate Director of Marketing and Event Development, where he was responsible for a team of over 20.
His key role was to initiate the branding and marketing strategies at the corporate level to ensure those strategies could be implemented coherently and meet their respective KPIs.
Jo is an avid fan of football and loves to learn about new things. Recently, he has moved to the U.K. with his family where he has now joined Play it Green.
We are sure he will make an excellent and invaluable addition to our team.
Jo said on his new role, “I am so excited to become part of the Play It Green team and am thankful for the opportunity to join at such an exciting time in the company’s growth. Even though I am new to this industry, it’s a very meaningful sector that I could put my passion into and make the world a little bit better.
I believe making an impact is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in and day-out. I look forward to leveraging my past experience to make a positive contribution at Play It Green.”
Chris Thair, CEO of Play it Green, added, “Jo made a huge impression on us during the interview process, and we were all delighted with his appointment. Jo has a wealth of marketing experience that will be of great benefit to us as we approach and go beyond our first anniversary in April.
My old mentor used to say, ‘surround yourself in business with better people, and you will succeed’. We are building a mixed and dynamic team here, and Jo’s values align perfectly with our own. We couldn’t be happier with Jo and the team we are building here at Play it Green.”
