The Cheshire-based charity David Lewis has partnered with award-winning Manchester sustainability company Play It Green to help raise further funds during the social care crisis and lower its carbon footprint.
Play It Green is a climate-driven organisation that provides a cost-effective way for people, businesses, schools and sports clubs to contribute to a more sustainable future by planting trees and much more.
The exciting new partnership means David Lewis will appear as a choice to donate 10% of sales and subscriptions on the Play It Green platform to help raise vital funds for their work.
David Lewis provides high-quality education, residential, medical and therapeutic support for people with learning disabilities, epilepsy, autism and other complex support needs.
Richard Dickson, Head of Engagement and Play It Green Co-Founder said “We’re delighted to be working with David Lewis and help raise further funds for their work that impacts so many families.
“The partnership will be used to help drive the sustainability message throughout the charities network and help create more of an environmental and social impact beyond their own.”
John Heritage, Chief Executive of David Lewis commented:
“All donations we receive via this partnership will support us to enhance what we provide to support people gaining independence, positive identity, self-esteem and personal control over their lives’
“We are very passionate about leaving the planet in a better place for future generations and proud to partner with Play It Green.
The partnership aligns with our new ambitious 3-year strategy, which has as one of our ambitions to have a sustainable future which includes environmental sustainability.
As part of this, we have pledged to plant over 1 million bulbs and over 9000 trees across our 200 acres of land next year.
This will reduce our carbon footprint and provide another opportunity for us to connect with our local communities.”
Play It Green’s three-step solution to climate change: reduce, repair and regive, has been adopted by many businesses, big and small, across nine countries with many choosing to have a Climate Positive Workforce.
Play It Green’s full package of support includes Carbon Footprint Reporting which provides a valuable service to the business community.
Play It Green will now work with David Lewis to help reduce people’s carbon footprints, move the charity to net-zero and establish a climate-positive workforce, all of which will be captured in their new forest garden platform.
